I’m fascinated with all beautiful things. I adore a scent of delish things. I deluded when it comes about beautiful packaging. So here today I share a things why I wanted to try out the Jo Malone perfume.
JO MALONE Peony & Blush Suede is a reminiscent of children donning pink tutus, filling the air with their naive laughter, like wandering fairies in your grandmama’s garden, as memories flowed freely – it’s nothing but a beautiful sight to behold.
Claims : The essence of charm. Peonies in voluptuous bloom, exquisitely fragile. Flirtatious with the juicy bite of red apple and the opulence of jasmine, rose and gillyflower. Mingling with the sensuality of soft, blush suede. Luxurious and seductive.
Top Note: Red Apple, a crisp note that captures the mouth-watering juiciness of apple, opening the fragrance with an innocent, fruity twist.
Heart Note: Peony, an exquisite floral with delicate rose and honey accents and a subtle, green freshness. Fills the fragrance with the scent of peonies, just as they unfold.
Base Note: Suede, a supple textural note, complementing the floral opulence of peony and bringing enticing sensuality to the fragrance.
This cologne comes packed in this gorgeous glass square bottle with a little silver cap. I adore the packaging. I would repurchase Jo Malone solely for the packaging itself (okay don’t judge me wrong here)
The fragrance is such a lovely, fresh scent. Floral and feminine without being overpowering or too sweet. Jo Malone describes it as “The essence of charm”. Peonies in voluptuous bloom, exquisitely fragile. Flirtatious with the juicy bite of red apple and the opulence of jasmine, rose and gillyflower. Mingling with the sensuality of soft, blush suede. Luxurious and seductive.
I head over heels instantly, I can smell the superbly red apple when sprayed, then the peony comes through right after mixed with roses. I’m not a fan of roses but the combination with peony is luxurious, with the red apple cutting through and balancing the floral out whilst adding sweetness. It’s the perfect harmony. The smell of roses is light and not overpowering, perfect. I did wonder about the blush suede but I can smell it coming as the scent settles. I would say suede helps the smell be smooth if that makes sense?
This cologne would suit those who like feminine perfumes with subtle floral notes and leather undertones. It has good staying power and while not as encapsulating as the Mimosa and Cardamom cologne, this is fast becoming a favorite.
I like floral and spicy scents, so I was very intrigued with the name of this scent and wondered if I would find it too floral. Well, I can now understand why this is such a popular fragrance. I would say it has a very feminine style, but thankfully not sickly sweet in nature. It has a non-floral undertone which I believe stems from the blush suede, making this a fragrance that can easily be worn day or night.
I was really surprised at how long this fragrance lasted on me given that it is not from the Cologne Intense collection. It goes on my skin with a crisp fruity note (probably from the Red Apple) but it quickly settles into the Peony and Suede floral scent. I can still smell it on my after a day’s work although not strongly but in a very feminine demure way.
Frequent wear: Almost everyday
