[REVIEW] The Spectacular Blush, Highlighter & Eyeshadow In One Compact; Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Pink Quartz

I might announce this probably the first and the only one highlighter I have in a couple years back, it wasn’t until the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter of Fenty Beauty [review here] I recently purchased.

Back then, I’m not into makeup and I don’t really care about putting makeup on my face(duh..) literally I just simply put cushion(no wonder why I have tons of cushion.. read more about cushion) then lipstick then go (what?!!), well life changing and I start learning makeup for beginner and watch lot of makeup tutorials, and still I’m not a pro makeup yet. LOL. Okay enough about me and let’s move to the topics.

What is Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick? This is a multi-function product that you can use either as a highlighter, bush, or eyeshadow. I got mine one in PINK QUARTZ, and I love this!

Bobbi Brown describes Pink Quartz as a “warm pink glow” which is also very accurate. The finish is much warmer than pink, and almost a little beige. Depending on your skin tone, you could even get away with wearing it as a blush.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks come in a black classy plastic compact with the name of the brand written on top of the compact. Inside the compact, there is a huge mirror at one end and the product on the other. The product itself is quite unique since it has 5 different shades which can be worn individually or mixed with together for use. The shade name “Pink Quartz” is written at the bottom of the compact.

Shimmer Brick are powders that are filled to the brim with shimmer. They can be used as a blush, bronzer or highlighter depending on the shade you get and how it matches your skin tone. When you use the strips individually you can even use these as eyeshadow as the color are super pigmented. I bought this mostly to be used as a highlighter, which is what most people will use these for.

Like pink, the texture of Pink Quartz is dry and nothing to brag about. However, the color payoff is where this product really shines. When applied with a highlight or fan brush, it’s super easy to achieve a luminous lit-from-within glow. It might not look like anything going on, but trust me when you’re in direct sunlight your cheeks will shine!

When it comes to highlighters, I go with the ones which provide a natural glow. I rarely prefer in-your-face highlight. But this Shimmer Brick is an exception. This Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick is actually shimmery. As I mentioned above, this the 5 different shades it’s a multi-purpose product.
For eyeshadow, I like to apply the lighter shade all over my lids and the darkest on the outer V and blend in with a medium shade. This way, the shade will appear more beautiful on your eyes.

Final Thought
If you are a makeup rookie (like me) the Shimmer Brick is your best investment because you just cannot go wrong with it. The shades are extremely pigmented and blend beautifully. I have used these on my lids and my checks as well and they look beautiful. The powders feel very creamy and soft to touch. It’s finely milled and not feel chunky in any sense.
You do not need to layer it, this heavily to get a pretty sheen. It catches the light nicely with a lighter application. Overall Pink Quartz is a nice down to earth highlighter that can be worn anywhere, regardless whatever else you might choose to wear.

Where to buy? BobbiBrown.com $48

Cheers, and let’s be more beautiful than tomorrow
