Lipstick are one of my many weaknesses when it comes to makeup, as I love having a variety of shades, finishes and formulas to choose from depending on the occasion.
YSL is one of my favorite brands for lipsticks not only for the luxurious, pretty packaging that looks beautiful perched on top of my vanity table but also their incredible formulas and shade range. And the brings me on today’s blog post topic, four YSL lipsticks you need to try!
My first YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres #11, was inspired from K-drama I watched in a couple years back. No.11 Rouge Gouache is the vampiest of the four YSL lipstick I owned, and is best described as deep cherry red with blue/pink. It’s the kind of color that makes your teeth look whiter. A nice perk! The product does have a fragrance, it’s that heavy rose scent typical for YSL makeup. It’s a bit too strong for me personally, because I kept noticing it for hours after the initial application, so other people must have smelled it too.
The stain part is fantastic, it’s makes the color look bright and vivid for a long time, even after the buttery gloss is gone. If I count the stain effect, the lips lasted over 7 hours on the lips!
The Second lipstick was YSL Rouge Pur Coutre #19 Fushia Pink, for the record that’s a mini sample the lady staff gave me. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have gone for it-I found the lipstick too drying but still I enjoy the color. The gold packaging is so chic! The product is meant to symbolize “Edgy Style and Ultimate Feminine Strength” I love that. These lipsticks have a slight glossiness when you first apply them, however, this sheen starts to wear off rather quickly (dab your lips on a paper towel and it’s gone!). What you’re left with is a more matte look. Luckily, the underlying color stays put for quite a while- I usually get about 1-2 hours wear, with a slight stain remaining in my lips after 2 hours.
The next lipstick I purchased YSL Rouge Volupte Shine-Oil-In-Stick #33 Fushia Intense, is actually quite purple in real life. There is an iridescent sheen to it, that makes the color change a little as you angle it, which makes it look very pretty. I wasn’t sure if the purple hue sat well with me, but it did. Is a cool-toned fuchsia pink with a purple undertone. It may not appeal to everyone but it really grew on me. Bold, yet with a twist.
You may see all four color from these hand swatches. They all slick on like butter, with very strong pigmented color, and a beautiful shine. The shine on lips is a beautiful gloss that is very flattering, and more attractive to me.
The fourth is the latest edition YSL MLBB collection, YSL Rouge Tatouage Matte Lip Stain #16 is the very popular shade “Nude Emblem”. However I would not classify it as a nude at all. It’s actually quite bright rose color with lots of orange undertones. I was impressed by the pigmentation, the formula was more watery and went on in a much thinner layer and still give a full coverage. Surprisingly the product never got on my teeth although this lipstick never really fully dries down. Maybe that’s why it feels a bit more comfortable than other liquid lipsticks as it stays a bit moist on your lips which means the color will transfer if you eat or drink.
Are you a YSL fans too? what is your favorite YSL products?
Cheers and Love,
